Your Frequently Asked Questions
Why can't an early intervention service advisor support a family in the same way that the ALKY service does in families?
The Early Intervention Service is funded in such a way that each beneficiary family is entitled to an average of one two-hour consultation per month with 2 Early Intervention Counsellors. With such a low number of hours, it is not possible to provide support to parents in mastering a specific practical skill regarding supporting their child's development.
ALKA in Families is a premium service which enhances the quality of the early intervention service because we understand how important intensive support is for parents to learn new skills.
